For roughly 30 years, it was the biggest selling live album of all time (Video)

"Frampton Comes Alive" was released this month in 1976. Some sources say it came out 1/6/76 and others say it was 1/16/76.

Whatever the case, the album was released 42 years ago.

Sales figures are every bit as difficult to come by as release dates. Generally, it's believed that "Frampton Comes Alive" by Peter Frampton sold about 15 million copies. However, since 2006, the biggest selling live LP has been "Double Live" by Garth Brooks with sales over 21 million.

I can only think of two other live LP's to sell 10 million or more...Bruce Springsteen's "Live 1975-85" set and Eric Clapton's "Unplugged."
