Dr. Marv Rosenberg

Dr. Marv Rosenberg, a Ph.D. in psychology, has spent over 19 years researching the effects of popular music on people.

Having written and performed with the Safaris, their Top Ten 1960 hit “Image of a Girl” as well as having been the California Chairman for the National Music Foundation, he pursued his love for music and writing by developing and teaching special classes in medical terminology where he wrote a book called “Medical Poetry”. With the book having phenomenal success, this textbook covered the primary medical diagnoses in rhyme and the classes were presented using music, poetry, and comedy.

Marv has been fascinated with the question of why one person can love a particular song while another person disliked the same song so much they would turn the dial on their radio. His research over the years in the psychology of music has led to interesting findings that have been praised by many psychologists and music industry experts. For the first time, those research results will be presented on Radio through Cash Box Magazine in an exclusive show called the "Music in You." It is an interesting and fun show where you can learn more about yourself based on the songs you like the best.

FACTS
  • The average age of death of rock stars is 36.9 years as compared to the average age of death of Americans in the general population of 75.9 years.
  • More than 1 out of 10 stars die from a drug overdose.
  • Entertainers are about 4 times more likely to commit suicide than the average American.

Being thrust into a new life style, the performer has been put in a position of being on their own in dealing with this new situation. In attempting to survive in the world of celebrities, history has shown the survival to have resulted in investors losing a lot of money on their investments from celebrities use of drugs, alcohol, resulting in depression, and even suicide. It has also resulted in divorce, their children being psychologically affected, and so on.

Help us develop a hotline exclusively to help entertainers and their families deal with the stresses, pressures, and problems they may experience as a result of their rise or fall from stardom.

R.A.I.N., Recording Artists In Need, is a subsidiary of the Medical Arts Institute, is dedicated to establishing a 24/7 private and strictly confidential hot line exclusively for entertainers to talk to qualified professional counselors and highly trained volunteers to meet this needy service.
